Paul R. Teetor was born in 1919 in Detroit, Mich. His family moved to Poultney, Vt., when he was in his teens. He graduated from Troy Conference Academy and attended Princeton University, graduating in 1940. In 1942 he joined the Army Air Corps and was trained as a navigator. He was captured after his plane was shot down and spent 15 months as a German prisoner of war, liberated from the concentration camp in 1945.
